Books You Should Read!

Have I told you before how amazing Goodreads is? Goodreads is the best for making a year long reading goal, finding books similar to the books you enjoy or make recommendations for your friends and see which books they are reading. You are also able to rate books once you've read them.

I just started reading her books this year and I now want to read every single one of her books and want her to never stop writing! I've always liked fantasy, but I really appreciate her modern language in the fantasy stories that she writes. I'll also warn you that many of her books include romance. I enjoy it all mixed together, but I know some people are particular about having the two separate. So far, I've read her Curse of Gods series, Walker Saga, NYC Mecca Series.

I enjoyed this contemporary romance as a change from my usual fantasy books. The story tells about an orphan that is adopted into a rich family. It is a rough transition for her to fit in with the boys of the family that attend the same high school with her.

This story starts with Juliette being locked in a tower. She is 17 years old and her touch is fatal. This is one of those stories where she has to decide to become a weapon or become a warrior.

The story is based in the desert with a female lead. Amani is a gifted gunslinger in a world of magical djinn. This is a Goodreads 2016 Choice Award book.

I've read a couple of books by Holly Black and this one did not disappoint. It is more mature than her Magisterium series. In this story Jude lives in the High Court of Faerie even though she is human. She must learn to live here with some wicked fairies and create some tough alliances to save her family.

This was an enjoyable story and leaves you wanting to know what happens next. It is extremely detailed and the author does a great job of describing each character. This is another classic story of a forbidden love with magic and mystery intertwined in the story.

Currently May!

Currently May! I am joining up with Oh Boy, Fourth Grade for this Linky!

1. Audio Books- I have been using Audible in the car and even at home while cooking I will continue to listen to audible using my phone. I am really enjoying it so far. It is a lot better than CD's because I can use it in the car and then anywhere else I can take my phone.

I really enjoyed these books on audible:

I am now listening to,

2. Lunar Chronicles- I also like reading books:) This set is SOOO GOOD! I can't wait for the next book to come out. If you love Fairy Tales and Fantasy, you will love these books.

3. I just can't get over there are only 4 weeks left in this school year! Time to start thinking about an End of the Year Party! My grade level discussed a Hawaiian Luau, but we haven't work out any details. Pinterest, here I come...

4. I really want a new purse. I've had my same Vera Bradley for about a year and that is a long time for me. I may start shopping after I finish this post. :)

5. Lots happening this Summer!
My husband and I are searching for a new home.
My school is being repurposed (meaning it is closing this year) and all the employees are being transferred to other schools in the system. This is a sad and exciting time for us. So, I am sure that means I will be in my new school getting things "just right" before school begins in August.
We already have a beach trip planned that I am SUPER excited about!
I am hoping to get lots done on my TPT to do list, including clip art!

Five For Friday- 4/17

I am so happy to be linking up with DoodleBugs Five For Friday
Maps, Maps, Maps
We've been learning about Maps this week and here are some books I read to my class.

We also created a model of our house with a brown paper bag.

Cool websites I want to share about!

www.CardPool.com

So, I just found out about this site and thought I would share. You can exchange old gift cards that you may not want, because you don't usually go to that particular store or restaurant for a gift card that you prefer. They do take a percentage when you complete the exchange. For example, I exchanged a $25 Cheesecake Factory gift card for $17.50 to GameStop, for my husband. I never go to the Cheesecake Factory, that gift card had been in my purse for almost 3 years.

You should try it out:

Here's another site I would like to share about, but watch out it is super addicting!
www.Jane.com
They have the cutest clothes and items. They send an email to you with daily deals from other sites. I bought the shirts shown below and had SOOO many compliments at work this week.

Fairy Tale Writing
Here are some that we read this week:

We have been reading lots of Fairy Tales and we started writing our own versions of our favorite story today. It is only the beginning of the story and we plan to continue this writing next week. This is a great test for if you can read kindergarten....

Abigayil Riding Hood took cookies to her granny's house.

Japunzel instead of Rapunzel and she was in a tall castle instead of a tower.

Three Silly Cats Gruff!

Abigayella instead of Cinderella and she had an evil sister.

Three Princess that built houses.

Yes, this last one says Zombies Gruff and evidently they wanted to hot dogs!

VARSITY TRUCK!
We had a treat from our Administration today, the Varsity Truck visited our school during lunch and we were given a free meal! So good, but I def needed a nap afterwards!

I ate a chili burger, chili hot god, some french fries and onion rings! Yes, you read that correct, and I survived!

I hope you enjoyed my randomness from the week!
